To Kill a Mockingbird Chapter 10

When Atticus says "...remember it's a sin to kill a mockingbird" he was warning Jem and Scout about what they could and could not shoot with their brand-new air rifles. Miss Maudie then explained that a mockingbird does nothing but sing. It only ever helps people and never hinders them. Mockingbirds spend their entire lives creating music for people to enjoy. Atticus also wanted Jem and Scout to learn about rifle saftey and air rifles are very good tools to teach kids gun saftey. http://www.ehow.com/how_2049618_use-air-rifle-sports-shooting.html
