Fighting for Power Chapter 9

When Scout fights with Francis she is trying to defend Atticus' honor and pride. Scout feels that Francis is attacking her-self as well as Atticus when he made those hurtful comments. When Uncle Jack stopped Scout from fighting he was going against nature. It is a fact of of life: kids fight. http://childcare.about.com/od/behaviors/a/kidfighting.htm

uncompromising lineaments : Lineaments are distinctive features or characteristics. Uncompromising, in this instance, means unchanging; firm; set. Alexandra's and Francis's uncompromising lineaments are their characteristics that are set and will never change.
