To Kill a Mockingbird Chapter 10

When Atticus says "...remember it's a sin to kill a mockingbird" he was warning Jem and Scout about what they could and could not shoot with their brand-new air rifles. Miss Maudie then explained that a mockingbird does nothing but sing. It only ever helps people and never hinders them. Mockingbirds spend their entire lives creating music for people to enjoy. Fighting for Power Chapter 9

When Scout fights with Francis she is trying to defend Atticus' honor and pride. Scout feels that Francis is attacking her-self as well as Atticus when he made those hurtful comments. uncompromising lineaments : Lineaments are distinctive features or characteristics. Uncompromising, in this instance, means unchanging; firm; set. Alexandra's and Francis's uncompromising lineaments are their characteristics that are set and will never change.

SNOW (7-8)

Snow played a big part in chapters 7 and 8. Not only was it the first time Jem and Scout had seen snow but it was also the first time for Atticus.Some might say this symbolized something that would happen later in the book. But thats ridiculas because the fact that it snowed is no basis to make any predictions of wha the author will later write about.

Chapter 5-6

Miss Maudie is like a grandmother to Jem and Scout. She takes care of them and lets them do thingsa that other adults normally wouldn't allow. When ever Scout goes over to her house Miss Maudie gives her cakes and other sweets. She lets them play on her lawn. To Scout, who never knew her mom, and to Jem, who barley knew his mom, Miss Maudie seemed to be there for them.

Chapter 4 _Bravery vs. Stupidity_

Bravery and courage are well talked about topics, but what do they really mean?

When someone does something that is "brave" people talk about it and that person becomes known for being couragous. But, some people believe that being brave is a positive spin on being foolish or even as far as stupid. They say brave things require couarge, but couarage is only a willingness to risk your self. So there is a definite line between stupidity and bravery that is sometimes hard to see.

Scout has been affected by many people in her life, some more than others. I believe that Jem has had the biggest affect because he is with Scout all the time dispensing advice whenever it is needed and sometimes even when it isnt. Jem has been the helping hand in Scouts life in every time of need.
